Ghost of Siberia
22" x 30". Stone Lithograph. 2014. © Brad Sherk 2015.
This Siberian tiger took me 9 hours to draw. It is estimated that there are less than 500 Siberian tigers left in the wild. I have always found big black and white drawings to be very powerful. Add to the fact that tigers have such powerful eyes that can give the viewer a bit of tension as they make eye contact. I wanted that tension to come across in this piece to remind the world of the decline of these beautiful animals. It is because of human actions or inactions that tigers are illegally hunted and their habitat depleted every year. Lets hope that by acting against this that tigers will never become ghosts that once existed.
